Sans Decaf
Regular price £11.00If it didn't say on the label, you wouldn't know this was decaf — sweet yet well balanced and works perfectly with or without milk. Our Colombian decaf will satisfy your thirst for flavour, without having you jittering into the evening.
Nestled between the Andean mountains on the west and the Magdalena river basin, Tolima is a rather remote and hard-to-access area. Its geography and topography are, however, very favourable for cultivating coffee, and the region accounts for 12% of Colombia’s annual production. Tolima is the third-largest coffee-producing region in the country. Coffee is a family business in Tolima: small farms (three hectares on average), managed and operated by family and friends.
Planadas is a regional blend from various smallholder producers. Situated at elevations between 1600 and 1800 MASL, the coffee here benefits from cooler temperatures, which slow down the cherry's ripening process, resulting in a more complex flavour profile - one which remains intact in the sugarcane decaffeination process. Like many other places in Colombia, the region's volcanic soil is rich in nutrients and minerals, providing a fertile foundation for coffee plants to thrive.
To remove the caffeine from the coffee, the beans go through sugarcane decaffeination. You can read more about the process here.
You can expect tasting notes of fresh stone fruit, caramel, and roasted hazelnuts
